Funk Brunch

Atlanta has a brunch problem. Not that there's not enough of it — there's too much. Every restaurant with a patio serves the same avocado toast, the same benedict, the same $18 mimosa flight. It gets old.

Funk Brunch is what happens when you say: what if brunch was actually good?

The Setup

Saturday and Sunday, 12 to 5 p.m. Five hours, no reservations, no rush. Slow-smoked BBQ on one side of the menu, Southern brunch plates on the other, Cinna Guys cinnamon rolls hot out the oven, stiff drinks poured all afternoon.

The BBQ Plates

Half-pound plate: $18. Pick one meat, two sides.

One-pound plate: $26. Two meats, two sides.

Meats: pulled pork, St. Louis ribs, half chicken. Add brisket +$5.

Sides rotate but include fries, basil pesto pasta salad, warm German potato salad, BBQ beans, BBQ braised collard greens, and a simple salad. Mac & cheese is +$2. Ask what's fresh that day — the collards are the sleeper pick.

Cinna Guys Cinnamon Rolls

The whole reason some people come. Cinna Guys is a small Atlanta operation making genuinely one of the best cinnamon rolls in the city — hot out of the oven, at your table, no reheat energy.

  • Classic Vanilla — $10. The one you order first.
  • Peach Cobbler — $12. Georgia peaches, cinnamon, obvious.
  • The Weekend Special — $12. Rotates. Ask what's on that day.

Get them at the start of brunch, get them at the end of brunch, get them in the middle. There is no wrong answer. If you're bringing a group, get all three and split them.

The Brunch Plates

This is where Funk Brunch does something most Atlanta brunch spots don't — real Southern brunch, not New American brunch with a twist.

Fancy Biscuit & Gravy — $12. Biscuit, gravy, pulled pork, egg, crispy shallots. The pulled pork is the same 16-hour smoked pork butt from The Hoss sandwich. That's not an accident.

Big South Hash — $14. Potato, pimento, scrambled eggs, chipotle crema, green onions. Add pork belly +$5 (do it).

Classic City French Toast — $12. Local strawberries, house-made yuzu whipped cream. The yuzu is what makes it.

$12 Hollar — $12. Bourbon maple sausage biscuit, egg your style, cheddar, house peach jam. Named for the price, but genuinely the best breakfast sandwich under $15 in this neighborhood.

The Stiff Drinks

We're a bar first. Brunch drinks aren't an afterthought.

Bloody Marys made properly. Mimosas that aren't sad. Spiked coffees. And the full cocktail list is open — every one of our draft cocktails works with brunch food. A few obvious picks:

  • Espresso Martini ($14) — obvious.
  • Same Page ($12) — watermelon, basil, lime, soda. Bright, refreshing.
  • The Likeminded ($14) — house sig, tequila-forward, holds up to spicy food.
  • Good Company ($14) — frozen, tequila, passionfruit + strawberry. For the hot patio days.
  • Old Fashioned ($12) — for the person at brunch who doesn't drink brunch drinks.

Draft beer, wine by the glass, canned everything.

The Case Against Regular Brunch

Look — we like the other brunch spots too. But here's the deal:

The line thing. No line here (yet). You walk in, you get sat.

The reservations thing. We don't take them for brunch. Just come.

The $18 eggs thing. $12 gets you the biscuit & gravy plate with real pulled pork on it. Compare that to $18 of scrambled eggs and a piece of toast at a rooftop.

The you-have-to-dress-up thing. Wear whatever. It's Saturday.

The one-drink-limit thing. We're a bar. Order what you want.

Football + Funk Brunch

Football season adds a wrinkle: our Funk Brunch runs 12-5, and Georgia often plays afternoon or evening kicks. Which means you can:

  1. Brunch at LikeMinds 12-2 p.m. — Cinna Guys, biscuit & gravy, mimosa. Warm cinnamon roll in hand.
  2. Stick around for the 3:30 Georgia kickoff — Same table, sound goes on, order a Beltline Confidential and settle in.
  3. Head home when the game's over — Or the smart move: stay for dinner. Sandwich menu opens back up at 5.

That's the whole day, one place, no parking issues.

Why Weekends Matter Right Now

We're a pop-up open through the end of 2026. That means we've got a limited number of brunch weekends left before we close. Do the math and you'll figure out that you should probably come more than once. Cinna Guys will still be Cinna Guys after we're gone — but this specific brunch, in this specific room, only exists here, only until December.

The Bottom Line

Brunch should feel like a party you almost missed, not a reservation you had to make three weeks ago. That's what we're building here.

Funk Brunch Saturdays and Sundays, 12–5 p.m. 112 Krog Street NE, Atlanta No reservations. Just come.
